Estimated viewable impressions. Estimated from our own ad slot counters over the last 1 days (slots that loaded on real readers' pages, bots excluded), times the share that becomes viewable (60% until we have measured our own). A lock means the site has no such placement yet.

AD FORMATS
The sizes our slots already hold.
-
728x90 for desktops and 320x50 for phones (468x60 optional, for narrow columns). We show the size that fits the reader’s screen.
-
300x250, between sections and in articles.
-
An image, a headline, a line of text and your link, in the first in-article slot and native slots.
-
Image ads and text only, served by us. No advertiser scripts, tags or pixels.
TARGETING
Show up where your issue is.
Choose the placement (site-wide, in On My Block articles, on ward and district, member, legislation and meeting pages, in Chicago’s election guide, or on the meetings list), then narrow it to page types, wards or districts, or specific articles.

SPLIT
50 / 50

A/B TESTING
Test two creatives, keep the winner.
-
Readers are split 50/50 when they first see your ad and keep seeing the same version. The split is a random letter stored in their browser, with no identifier.
-
Viewable impressions, clicks and click-through rate for A and B, by day, site and page type.

ANALYTICS
See what your ad did, every day.
Viewable impressions (half the ad on screen for a second), clicks through our own redirect, and click-through rate, by day, site, page type and A/B version. Download it as CSV. Counted without personal data about readers.

CPM: dollars per 1,000 viewable impressions. Each site and placement costs the larger of its CPM times the estimated impressions or its weekly minimum. Every site in one campaign: 15% off. A/B test: +20% (at least $25). Prices in USD; your quote is shown before you pay.
REVIEWED BY PEOPLE
Every ad is reviewed by a person before it runs, labeled “Advertisement”, and served by us: no advertiser code ever runs on our readers’ pages.
Political ads carry a “Paid for by” line, and we keep the payer’s name and address on record.

Questions advertisers ask
You build the campaign and pay (or ask for an invoice). Our staff review every ad before it runs, usually within one business day. If we reject it, we tell you why and refund it in full.
Yes, from any party or position, under the same rules: candidates, PACs, ballot measures and issue advocacy, with links to donation pages such as ActBlue or WinRed. Mark the ad as political, give the “Paid for by” line we show on it, and the payer’s name and address for our records. Federal law and state law (including Illinois’ Election Code) can require disclaimers and reporting; you are responsible for meeting them. Political ads are sold at the same rates.
They are estimates from our own measurements. If a campaign delivers fewer viewable impressions than estimated, we extend it or refund the undelivered share, pro-rated.
Deceptive claims, impersonation, malware or redirects, and anything else in our Terms. Ads are images and text only; we never run advertisers’ scripts.
Card payments are coming soon. For now, request an invoice: we email it, and your campaign runs once it is approved and paid.
